I love the concept behind the hardcover book that I found this week. The books is a simple stab-bound book from visual artist, book binder and paper maker, Katie Frisch.
I like the simplicity of the book, and I love the suggestion of a new book with handwriting on the cover and fresh, blank sheets within. Yet what really excites me about this book is that the paper used to create this effect is from a creative journal that the artist kept on 12″x18″ paper. It is filled with ideas on and inspirations toward her artistic endeavors. Even more appealing to me, is that much of these ideas remains coded by means of these journal entries being flipped or layered in their new function.
